Do not visit or associate yourself with the international Churches of Christ. They brainwashed all of us back in '90s through the 2000s, you had to get permission to do things you couldn't even date someone without being scolded, only if you got permission to do it. They are a cult and they will brainwash you. Stay away they did this to many of my friends as well as me I'm still trying to recover.

His story should say how he got rich being a con man and tore families apart with controlling discipleship practices and brainwashing. Mental counselors get a lot of business from people like him who destroyed a lot of lives you help destroy mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. That's not something I would be proud of.

All they do is take your money so the leadership can live their lavish lifestyles and have the finer things. One friend of mine committed suicide because of the brainwashing they inflicted mentally and emotionally. People that leave this cult are shadows of their former selves. 2 Peter 2:20-22 resonates deeply with me: "they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning." This sentiment brings me back to my own journey. I remember a time when I would groan and complain about the church. I thought it was too demanding, controlling who I dated and requiring too much of my time and money. How could they claim to be the only true church? That was back in 2003 when I drifted away and returned to the world. During that period, I was in the marrieds group, while my ex-wife was passionately devoted to the Lord. She was so fired up that I often felt uncomfortable. I can still picture her at the bank, handing out invitations and making new friends within minutes. She was simply following Jesus’ command to go and make disciples of all nations. Meanwhile, I was drifting, caught up in worldly desires and materialism. Eventually, I left her, got divorced, and surrounded myself with the wrong crowd. Fast forward 21 years, and I found myself reflecting on 2 Peter 2:20-22. I had become a cocaine addict, entangled in a life of crime, which I won’t delve into. I spent years venting and complaining about God, even mocking Him. I then joined a lodge, what they called a spiritual Luciferian family, believing I was part of some special bloodline. For years, I was brainwashed, ultimately becoming a disciple of the very enemy I now reject. Today, I realize how much I wish I had listened. My brothers and sisters in Christ are not perfect, and I’m still on my path toward restoration. When I reach out to them, they sometimes pull away, which makes me wonder how difficult it will be for me to return, especially given my circumstances. It would be so easy to find another church and create a new story for myself. However, I know that the real journey is between me, my Heavenly Father, and my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The fellowship is a blessing, but the truth remains that my struggles are rooted in my own lack of repentance. The ICOC/ICC represents the best the world has to offer. When a brother or sister does something I dislike or leadership acts out of ego, I surrender it to Jesus. I pray for them, believing that healing can happen within the community. What matters most, and this applies to me as well, is recognizing that we may not always like each other, but the Scriptures affirm the church's importance, particularly the ICC/ICOC. They are chosen, not because I wish it to be so, but because the reality is that it would be easier to pretend I was never part of them. I urge caution: while mocking the church and God, you may unwittingly tread a dark path, one you never anticipated. Here I am, attending online services, studying the Scriptures, remembering my past, fasting, praying, and sharing my testimony in hopes that at least one person will recognize the harm they may be inflicting. I also pray that God will allow me to reunite with my family - imperfect as they are - because they are true Christians, sold out for Christ. This is a church that remains faithful, even when it’s challenging.
